Important Dates to Remember: Mark your Calendar…. SCHOOL SUPPLIES: ATTENTION PARENTS: Pre-packaged school supplies for the 2009-2010 school year are now available to order through the PTA from EPI. These supply lists have been compiled by the teachers in each grade level and approved by the principals. You may order by filling out the order form that has been sent home with your child and returning it to school with a check made payable to East Hanover PTA, or visit their website www.epipacks.com and enter our school ID# EAS188. Or you can print out the form right here— Supply order form. All orders come with a $10 Office Depot coupon and a magazine subscription. In addition, the PTA will be providing tissues and wipes to each class whose teacher requested them. Packages for grades 6,7,and 8 are available with or without a USB. The supplies will be on you child’s desk on the first day of school. Save time and money! Avoid shopping hassles, crowds, traffic, and guess work! Order you school supplies now! If you have any questions contact Lisa DeCroce at ldcx@aol.com. Orders and payment are due by June 22nd. Lunch Program: This is the LAST week of ordered lunches. General PTA Meeting: Our last PTA meeting for this school year will be on Friday, June 19th at 12:30 p.m. at Central School. Bagel lunch will be provided. The bags have a picture of the earth with 2 children on top and the saying "Be seen, being green" (on both sides). The bags are 12.5 x 8.5 x 13.5, perfect for the grocery store, library, sporting events, you name it! There is also a PE board for bottom sturdiness. They are $3.00 each. Go to the fundraising page to find out how you can help our schools. Afterschool Activity: The PTA is looking for volunteers to host after school programs for FJS & Central School. We have the programs, we need the volunteers to chair each program. Please contact Carol Menniti 973-884-0330 or at ehlunches@optonline.net. Marketday.com: We are still looking for a chairperson for Marketday. Marketday provides a monthly ordering food service for the parents as well as a fundraiser for the PTA - the PTA need a chairperson for this. It is a once a month commitment. Please contact Diana Scerbo at scerbo@optonline.net. PTA Gift Card Program: Next order date for the gift card program is June 15th. Great for teachers gifts, birthday presents, or just plain old shopping for your family. Haven't seen your favorite store?... check out the website... www.glscrip.com. SMARTBOARD Recipients: The chosen recipients for this year for the SMARTBOARDS are: Ms. Colleen Brophy- Frank J. Smith School; Ms. Eve Caputo- Central School; Ms. Joan Barone/8th grade team- Middle School. Check out the updated Cultural Arts page to see what events the PTA has sponsored for our children this year. All the events were a success! East Hanover Central School “Buy A Brick” Campaign
The East Hanover PTA is selling personalized, engraved bricks in hopes of completing a walkway at the new playground. This is a great way for students to be remembered or even for those just starting in the school system. Dedicate a brick to your favorite teacher, coach or a special loved one. It makes a great gift for family and friends. The net proceeds from the sale of the bricks will be used to pay for additional expenses incurred with the completion of the playground and to purchase needed ramps for the new handicapped swings. This is a family and community effort. We want to include as many students, families, friends, and local businesses as possible. Please support the efforts of the PTA Fundraising. $25,000 is needed to fund just the cultural arts programs for all 3 schools. The PTA is going paperless - please be sure to sign-up here for all news & information. PTA Membership ATTENTION PARENT VOLUNTEERS: Due to the rules/stipulations of the PTA's INSURANCE POLICY - all parent volunteers for the PTA must be a PTA Member. A parent volunteer needs to sign-up for PTA Membership each year. The dues you pay ($7) goes toward the cost of the PTA Insurance. Since insurance regulations are becoming stricter, we the EHPTA need to enforce this policy and check that all parent volunteers are PTA members. Again, this is for the EHPTA Insurance. If you have not yet done so, and wish to be a PTA volunteer /Member - please send $7 (check payable to EHPTA) in an envelope with your full name, e-mail address and names/grades of children.
